Vermicelli Upma



Ingredients
1.      Vermicelli (Broken and roasted) – 1 pkt
2.      Ghee / Oil - 2 tsp
3.      Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
4.      Urud Dal – 1 tsp
5.      Bengal Gram– 2 tsp
6.      Big Onion (medium) – 1 No. (finely chopped
7.      Green Chillies – 1 No. (finely chopped)
8.      Ginger – A small Piece (finely chopped)
9.      Curry leaves - A few
10.  Water – 2 Cups
11.  Salt – to taste

How to Prepare

    1. If the vermicelli is not roasted, dry roast the vermicelli in a pan till it becomes light brown. Keep aside.
  1. In another pan, heat ghee and fry the mustard seeds. Then add urud dal and Channa dal. Add chopped onions, chillies, ginger, and curry leaves, to it and saute for 2 - 3 minutes.
  2. Add 2 cups of water and salt. Let it boil. Last, add vermicelli to the boiling water little by little, stirring the water properly. Cook until the water completely evaporated.
  3. Serve hot.
