Red Spinach - Prawns Thoran
Ingredients
1. Red Spinach – 1 Bunch.
2. Prawns – ½ cup
3. Turmeric powder – 12 tsp
4. Chilli powder – ½ tsp
5. Shallots (Button Onion) -5- 6 nos
6. Garlic – 6-7 nos
7. Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
8. Fresh Grated coconut – ½ cup
9. Green chilli – 3-4 nos ( chopped)
10. Salt – To taste
11. Oil – 1 table spoon
12. Mustard Seeds – ½ teaspoon
13. Curry leaves - few
Method
- Cook the prawns with turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Keep it aside.
- Wash and clean red spinach. Finely chop the spinach and mix with coconut, green chilli, curry leaves and salt.
- Take a non stick pan. Heat oil. Then splutter mustard seeds and add the crushed onion and garlic. Stir for 2-3 minutes. Add turmeric powder and stir well.
- Then add spinach mix. Sprinkle some water over it. Mix well. Then cover the pan and cook in a low flame for about 5-8 minutes. Open the cover and add cooked prawns and mix well. Cover the pan again and cook it for 2-3 minutes. Open the pan and stir fry for another few seconds. Cheera – Chemmeen Thoran is ready for serving.
