Ragi Dosa

Ragi is rich in calcium and protein and also have good amount of iron and other minerals. It is low in fat most of which are unsaturated fats.  Especially its very good for kids and for the one who is going to be a mom. So lets start a day with a healthy breakfast.



Ingredients
1.      Ragi powder - 2 cups
2.       Rice flour - ½ cup
3.       Sour curd - ½ cup
4.       Salt - to taste
5.       Onions (finely chopped) - ½ cup
6.       Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
7.       Ginger (grated) - 1 tbsp
8.       Green chillies (finely chopped) – 3
9.       Oil - 1 tsp
Method of Preparation
  1.  Mix together the ragi powder, rice flour, curd and salt and bring it to dosa batter consistency, by adding the required quantity of water. Leave it undisturbed for half an hour.
  2. Now add the onions, cumin seeds, ginger and green chillies to the batter and mix it well.
  3.  Heat the tava and when hot, pour a ladle full of batter near the edge of the tava. Now  roll the tava around so that the batter spreads into a circular dosa shape. Using a ladle or spoon to spread the dosa, may tear it.
  4.  When the dosa becomes slightly crispy, sprinkle the oil around the edges and in the centre of the dosa.
  5.  When the dosa is ready, remove from the tava and serve hot with chutney.

Note: We can avoid green chillies in case of children.
