Bread Butter Pudding


Its a very easy to prepare dessert with less ingredients. Its very tasty. 


Ingredients
1.       Bread buttered and cut in half diagonally – 6 slices
2.       Milk – 450 ml
3.       Egg - 3
4.       Caster Sugar – 25 gm

Method

  1. Arrange bread in a greased dish.
  2. Warm the milk. Do not allow to boil.
  3. Beat together egg and sugar, add milk, stirring well.
  4. Pour the mixture over the bread, leave to stand for 15 minutes. Bake on Combi 1 (50%) for (For getting a crispy outer and spongy inner part) 15 – 20 minutes or until set and browned.

Note: You can also steam this pudding in a steel plate for 20 – 30 minutes instead of baking. But won’t get a crispy outer layer. But there is no difference in taste.You can also sprinkle 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder over it(Optional). If caster sugar is not available, use granulated sugar instead of it.but caramalise 2-3 tsp of sugar and spread over the pan. Then arrange the bread over it.
