Upma


Ingredients
1.      Rava – 1 1/2 Cup
2.    Ghee / Oil - 2 tsp
3.    Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
4.    Urud Dal – 1 tsp
5.     Bengal Gram– 2 tsp
6.    Big Onion (medium) – 1 No. (finely chopped
7.     Green Chillies – 1 No. (finely chopped)
8.    Ginger – A small Piece (finely chopped)
9.    Carrot – 1 No. (diced into small cubes)
10. Curry leaves - A few
11.  Water – 3 Cups
12. Salt – to taste

How to Prepare

  1. Dry roast the rava in a pan till it becomes light brown. Keep aside.
  2. In another pan, heat ghee and fry the mustard seeds. Then add urud dal and Channa dal. Add chopped onions, chillies, ginger, carrot curry leaves, to it and saute for 2 - 3 minutes.
  3. Add 3 cups of water and salt. Let it boil. Last, add rava to the boiling water little by little, stirring the water properly. Cook until it is soft and lumpy.
  4. Serve hot.
