Rava - Soya Idli

Every day same idli and sambar? Need a change? Try this easy and healthy recipe. We can give this to the kids who doesn't like vegetables. We can serve this even without a curry or chutney.


Ingredients

Oil  - 2 tbsp
 Mustard seeds  -  ½ tsp
 Green chillies (finely chopped) – 3
 Bengal gram dhal  -2 tsp
Ginger chopped -  ½ tsp
Big Onion (finely chopped)- 1 no
 Rava  -1 cup
Soya Granules (Optional) - 1/2 cup
 Carrot (finely chopped) - ½ cup
 Salt -  to taste
 Curd - 1 cup
 Cashew nuts crushed  - 1/4 cup

Preparation
1.  Soak the Soya Granules in a hot water for 10 -15 minutes. Wash it in cold water, drain and squeeze it. Keep it aside
2.  Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When they splutter, add the Bengal gram dhal. Then add chopped  onion, green chillies, ginger , carrots  respectively and sauté well.
3.   Now, lower the flame. Add the rava and soya granules and mix it well.
4.   Allow it to cool. Then add curd, salt, crushed cashew and enough water and blend it all well. Make a batter of consistency like idly batter.  Keep this mixture undisturbed to ferment for thirty minutes.
5.   Grease the idli moulds with oil and pour the batter into each idli mould and steam for 15 minutes, as is done for the regular idlis. Serve hot.
