Russian Tea Balls (Snow Balls)


This is a crunchy and sweet snack. My friend Tessy Cyril gave me this recipe. She is an expert in making this. Thank you so much Tessy.




Ingredients

1.     Butter or dalda - 250 gm
2.     Powdered Sugar - 125 gm + ¼ cup
3.     Maida (All purpose Flour) - 625 gm (2 1/2 cups)
4.     Salt      1/4 tsp
5.     Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
6.     Crushed cashew nuts - 150 gm

Preparation


  1.           Mix butter and powdered sugar and then add vanilla essence to it.
  2.           Mix Maida and salt well and add this to the first mixture. Add crushed nuts also.
  3.        . Then make small size balls.
  4.     Preheat Oven at 180 Degree C and  bake till the balls turn into light brown (apprx 10 - 12 min at low power). Remove it from the oven.
  5.          After 5 min take the hot balls and roll in the remaining ¼ cup powdered sugar. Now let the balls to get cool.
  6.           Once more roll it in sugar and store. Be careful that the balls don’t get break.
