Pasta in White Sauce
PASTA - My kids' all time favorite food. They eat pasta in any form.So I try to find out different types of pasta recipes for them.
Ingredients:
Pasta ( Any type as you wish) : 2 1/2 cup
Chopped Vegetables : 1 /2 cup( Carrot, Beans, Cauliflower, Broccoli, corn etc. If your kids won't eat vegetables, just grate it or crush it in a processor)
Salt : as needed
Olive Oil - 2 table spoon
For white sauce
Milk : 1 - 1 1/2 cup
Maida (All purpose flour) : 2 t spoon
Butter : 2 table spoon
Cheese(Grated) : 1/2 cup (Optional)
Oregano : 1 t spoon
Pepper Powder :1 tsp
How to make.
Cooking Pasta:- Bring water to boil in a large pot. Water should be enough to cover pasta
- When it starts boiling add salt and 1 t spoon cooking oil to avoid sticking.
- Then add pasta very carefully. Allow to cook. Don't over cook pasta.
- When it is cooked, drain off completely in strainer and keep it in running cold water for few seconds to avoid further cooking and sticking each other.
Making white sauce:
- Heat a thick bottom pan. Add 2 table spoon butter. Add maida. Remember to reduce flame to sim before adding maida. Otherwise it will be burnt. Saute for 2 minutes to goes off the raw smell. Make sure the colour of the flour doesn't change
- Then add milk slowly to this mixture. Stir continuously to avoid forming lumps.
- Cook this until the sauce turns slightly tick
- Add grated cheese, oregano, salt & pepper powder. Stir well until the cheese melts completely and gets a creamy texture. Switch off the flame and keep it aside
White sauce pasta:
- Heat a kadai and add 2 table spoon olive oil. Add chopped vegetables, sprinkle some salt and pepper and saute well. Once its cooked, add cooked pasta. Stir well. Then add creamy white sauce and mix properly to mix up well.
- Serve white sauce pasta immediately.
Notes:
You can add cooked chicken along with veggies.
If you need more spicy, just add 1/2 tspoon chilli flakes.
Cheese is pure optional. If you don't need, just avoid it.
