Rava Unniyappam
Rava (Semolina) - 1 cup
Fresh milk - 1 cup
Jaggery 250 gm( depending on the sweetness)
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tspoon
Big banana (Ethappazham) - 1 no
Salt - a small pinch
Ghee - 1 table spoon
Black sesame seed - 1 table spoon
Oil - for frying
Method of preparation
Soak rava in milk and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Make a thick syrup of jaggery using 1/4 glass of water
Grind soaked rava, jaggery syrup, cardamom powder and banana altogether to get smooth paste.
Add pinch of salt to balance the taste.
Heat ghee and roast sesame seeds and add this to the batter. Mix it well.
Heat oil in an uppiyappam pan, then add batter little by little. Flip both sides and fry it until golden colour. Make delicious unniyappams..
Note : You can add fried coconut pieces along with sesame seeds.
